Essay
Libraries and the internet : the two major sources of information for use in academic written work

When a person studies at university he needs to find a lot of information. Two best sources of information are libraries and the internet. Both books in libraries and the internet have their advantages and disadvantages. On the internet there is a huge variety of different books, scientific articles, so a person can find some useful information there without going away from home, but on the other hand, a person cannot be sure if the information he finds on the internet is really covienient.
The internet is said to be better, for people get the information without going away from home. It is good, because it saves time. A person does not need to go into a library which may be quite far away from his home. He may find all the information he needs at home, because on the internet there is a lot of different articles, books and other sources of information . Despite this advantage, searching for information on the internet can be a little bit dangerous, for the information which is placed there may be unconvienient. A student may never know if the article he had read is really based on scientific researches or if the author of an article is a proffesional of the field he writes about. The internet is a quite good tool for getting information, though people should not forget the libraries.
Some people say that libraries are old-fashioned and that searching for the information there is quite uncomfortable.Yes, a person must spend his time on going there. Sometimes it may be difficult and it may take a lot of time, for example, if there is a heavy traffic in the city. A person must also spend his money on a petrol or on a bus tikcet. But looking from another point of view, libraries may be seen as a better source of information than the internet. Books which are in libraries are more convienient than those found on the internet, because they are written by people who knew what they were writing about. Usually the information in books is correct, a person does not need to worry about the convienience of it.
All in all, both libraries and the internet may help a person to find lots of information he needs while studying. Of course, these two sources of information have their pluses and minuses, but a student must think of what is more important for him. Is it more leisure time which he can get from searching the information on the internet, or is it a better mark from his exam or presentation which he can get by using convienient information. In my opinion, a student should use both these sources of information, because on the internet may be some information which he cannot find in a library and vice versa.

My first two weeks at university

Today is a little bit more than two weeks as I am a second-year student. It is an interesting feeling.
I remember how I felt one year ago. Everything was much different as it is now. Because of lots of new people and new subjects, those two weeks were more interesting. But I cannot say that I am not happy today. Of course, I must study harder now, I have less leisure time. On the other hand, I feel self-confident. I now the order of the university, I know what I must to do in order to get a good mark or to pass my test or to be successful in the upcoming exams. Yes, there is a lot of time till the exams, but now I know that I must prepare for them in every lecture since now. Despite all the unpleasant things, I like my studies.
