Being a diplomat

Nowadays young people are a little bit confused, because they need to make a hard decision and choose a profession. Especially now, there is a huge variety of very different professions. A person should do what he or she can do best. If one is gifted in writing, he should become a writer or a journalist and if a person can talk very well, if he is not scared of being in the centre of attention, if he likes travelling and meeting new people, he should become a diplomat. Diplomacy is an interesting profession, but it has disadvantages as well as advantages.

Diplomacy has a large number of advantages. Travelling, meeting lots of interesting new people, knowing other cultures, communicating with other diplomats from all over the world may be fascinating. Another good point of choosing diplomacy as a profession is learning all your life. I am talking about learning new languages. Learning and improving your knowledge is one of the basics of complete life. Because of all these reasons diplomacy is seen as one of the most interesting professions.

On the other hand, being a diplomat may not be a very suitable job for all people, especially for those, who think that family is the most important thing in a person's life, because a diplomat must quite often change his living place. This also could be hard for people who cannot accept new cultures, new weather conditions and new people very quickly. And the last which is a minus of this profession is a need of very "cool" nerves and calmness. A diplomat cannot be a disrespectful person, he cannot shout or act silly, because he represents his country. Such things are not very easy for some people and they also are the disadvantages of being a diplomat.

All in all, I still think that diplomacy is one of the most interesting professions. It gives you an access to communicate with the whole world, to improve yourself as a person, to represent your country. If you would like to choose this profession, you should also consider all the disadvantages, because being a diplomat, like all other professions, has its pluses and minuses as well.

An essay

The first reason why students cheat on their tests and exams is the pressure to get into a high-ranked college or university. Nowadays the society believes that a good, well-educated person may only be a person who graduated the higher education institution. This attidute of society may influence students' parents as well, because of it the pressure might appear not only from the whole society, but also from the closest people - family. Not to pay attention tp such pressure is really difficult, so that is why a lot of students choose cheating.

Another reason of students' cheating is trying to avoid long hours of studying. There are a lot of young people who have other interesting and important activities, for example volunteering, arts or sports, so they try to save time for these things on a count of learning. On the other hand there are such students who are just lazy and prefer  spending their time not learning, but doing lots of silly and totally unimportant things such as watching TV or playing computer games. Because of other activities and their laziness students might cheat on their exams or tests.

Furthermore, the students' cheating may be caused by being just unhonest. In our society people do not care much about the moral virtues, they prefer cheating in every situation in their lives, because in this unhonest way people can easier get or achieve what they want without making efforts. This is why more and more students start to cheat.

To sum up, there are three main reasons why students choose cheating. A wish to get into a famous college or university on which depends an attidute of society, saving time on a count of studying or just a lack of self-discipline and the moral virtues which are very unvaluabled these days make the students choose that dirty and unhonest way to pass their exams and tests.

Short stories

This afternoon I have read two short stories, because I thought that it will be better not only for my writing skills, but also for my main knowledge about the classic literature.
The first story was "A Haunted House" by Virginia Woolf. I can say I liked the story, but it did not impressed me very much.
But the second short story - "Eyes of a Blue Dog" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez was totally fascinating. I liked everything in it. The story is a bit difficult to understand, but when you think more, then you get the message.
From now I decided to read only short stories for this writing blog, I think it is a better idea than just read other blogs written by other people.

Music

Today I have read 5 little articles which are related to music.
The first article was about studying music history, the second about film music composers, the third about a well-known musician Bob Marley, the fourth and the fifth were about composer Robert Schumann.
Actually, I liked all the articles, because I do really like music and everything what is connected with it. Moreover, the articles are written by the different people, so the style of writing was also different and because of that the reading was not boring.
What I did not like very much is that the themes of those articles were not really much related. Yes, they were about music, but the main ideas of articles differed too much. So, the next time I will choose to read something with more similar ideas.

An article about education in the U.S. and in the U.K.

I read an article about education in two different countries.
First of those countries was the United States of America and the other - Great Britain.
The article was good for me, because now I know much more about education in those two countries than before. Moreover, I liked the article, because there were a lot of new words, which are good for improving my vocabulary.
Of course, it was a little bit difficult to understand what is what. This is the biggest disadvantage of an article.
Another disadvantage is the theme. I know it is good to know a lot of such things, but they are not very interesting for me.
But all in all I liked an article.
